Jason Glikas is a painter whose work bridges the vivid expressiveness of abstract art with the contemplative beauty of landscapes. Primarily working in acrylic on canvas, his paintings reflect a lifelong passion for capturing the world around him. Originally from Clovis, New Mexico, Jason has been immersed in art since childhood. His father, Chuck Glikas is a renowned professional wildlife artist who taught Jason how to paint from a young age. Jason also draws inspiration from both his environment and the emotional depth of the human experience. His time living in Hawaii for 12 years deeply influenced his palette and perspective, infusing his work with a vibrant energy and a deep appreciation for natural beauty.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dallas Baptist University, attended the Texas Tech University art school, and earned a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of North Texas. In addition to his work as an artist, he is a published author, extending his creative voice beyond the canvas.
His artistic influences range from the emotional intensity of Francis Bacon to the dreamy landscapes of Claude Monet and the dynamic brushwork of Vincent Van Gogh. These inspirations are visible in his expressive use of color, texture, and movement. Jason’s art invites viewers to find their own narratives within the abstract and to pause in the quiet resonance of a painted landscape.
